Frequently Asked Questions

Are prescription drugs covered?
All prescription and non-prescription drugs deemed necessary by the WellQuest PACE interdisciplinary care team are paid for by the PACE program.
Do WellQuest PACE participants attend the day health center every day?
Day center attendance is based on individual needs and can range from once a week to five days, Monday through Friday.
Can I leave the program if it’s not right for me?
A WellQuest PACE participant can disenroll from the program at any time. Once disenrolled, you will be able to resume benefits for traditional Medicare or Medicaid.
What is the cost of WellQuest PACE?

The services provided by WellQuest PACE are fully covered by Medicare and Medicaid. There are no copays or out-of-pocket expenses for participants who are eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid.

A participant is required to pay a premium if:

  • He/she is not eligible for Medicaid.
  • If he/she is not eligible for Medicare and Medicaid, the participant will pay a premium equal to the Medicare and Medicaid premium.

All healthcare services needed by the participant, and approved by the Interdisciplinary Team are covered by the PACE Program. Participants are responsible for the cost of unauthorized, out-of-program services. WellQuest PACE provides Medicare Part D coverage for prescription medication. Participants who enroll in a separate Medicare Advantage Plan will become ineligible for continued enrollment in the PACE program.

Will WellQuest PACE take me to my doctor appointments?
WellQuest PACE provides all medically-necessary transportation to the WellQuest PACE center for activities or medical appointments.
Will I have to switch my Primary Care Physician?
Yes, because all healthcare services are provided on-site by WellQuest PACE. If you need to see a specialist, our medical team will refer you to one within our WellQuest PACE network of providers.
What role does my family play in my care?
Family involvement is essential to success in the PACE program. The PACE program is intended to work in partnership with the family, not in place of the family.
